The beauty of counselling is that it provides
a confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings,
difficulties, values, hopes, and ambitions. I offer a welcoming and relaxed
space where we work with whatever you bring in a respectful and non-
judgemental environment. My clients have discovered more about themselves,
improved their self care, made significant changes due to self reflection, and
have received support through challenging times.
My Approach
I am an Integrative Counsellor which means that I am relational, collaborative, and use various therapy theories as part of my work. This approach allows for flexibility in working with clients as unique individuals. Amongst other therapeutic disciplines, I draw upon Compassion Focused Therapy, which encourages having more deep compassion towards yourself, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, which focuses on what is important to a person and encourages taking active steps towards building a rich quality of life.
My clients have described experiencing ‘lightbulb moments,’ learnt to prioritise looking after themselves, and have appreciated support when encountering difficulties. They have noted reduced anxiety, and a feeling of liberation from past constraints. They have reported being calmer, more assertive, decisive, and confident, and now enjoy deeper relationships.
Where It All Started
I have provided support for others in various roles throughout my life. I developed an interest in knowing more about therapy when I worked in a Youth Inclusion Centre and went on to train in counselling for adults. Through training, practising, and receiving therapy, I have discovered that it can be very healing, releasing, equipping and empowering.
