We offer low cost individual counselling on Wednesdays at £20 per session with our counsellor in training Chloe Hill who is on placement with us this year. These sessions are for individuals on low incomes of no more than £12,000, for example students, people who work part time or people who are in receipt of state benefits. Please contact us on 07504492224 or firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested and we will conduct a short telephone pre-assessment to check if these counselling sessions are suitable for you.
All counsellors on accredited training courses are required to undertake a placement and accumulate a number of real counselling hours before they can qualify. Trainees who have reached this point have already completed a substantial part of their training. Our counsellors in training are supported and supervised by senior colleagues at Sheffield Central Counselling, as well as by their course tutors.
I am in my second year of my Level 4 Therapeutic Counselling Diploma and am due to qualify as a practicing Counsellor later this year, having already gained Levels 2 & 3 in Advanced Counselling Skills.
I have had training with Mermaids Charity on their helpline talking to families and professionals helping children who identify with Gender Dysphoria.
I have attended the LGBTQ+ Developing Future Leaders Seminar organised by Sayit. I have personal and professional experience of working with LGBTQ+ clients.
I have attended training on Helping Children Suffering Bereavement, Bereavement Awareness & Bereavement by Sudden & Traumatic Events and Suicide.
I also have experience in helping clients with Low Mood, Anxiety, Low Confidence & Self Esteem as well as many other areas.
My approach to Counselling is quite integrative after studying different methods over the past few years. Each client is different and may require different skills to be used to help them on their journey. My ultimate goal is to help a client use personal therapy to live a happier, more peaceful life.
Where It All Started
I received counselling myself when I was in my 20’s and found that to help others through the same difficulties would be my dream career. I worked for the Sheffield City Council for nearly 10 years, advising customers who had issues with their Council Tax & Housing Benefits. I found I was very good at listening and communicating with people was my strength.
