I’m about to complete my post graduate diploma in counselling and psychotherapy at Leeds Beckett University. As part of my training I’m really excited to be at Sheffield Central Counselling offering low cost therapy to people.
For me therapy is about working together to find out what is going on for you.
It is your space for you to just unpack what is going on. And my role as therapist is to help you through that process. To do this I will draw on a range of theories and practices.
During our sessions we will look at the thoughts and emotions you are experiencing. We will talk about where they might be connected to past experiences. And we’ll discuss any changes you might want to make for yourself or life.
You might be experiencing difficulties in work, challenges in your relationships, you might have just lost someone, or you might have worries about your future. This might be leaving you feeling confused, stressed, anxious, unhappy, overwhelmed. Or all of the above.
Therapy is your private space to talk about these feelings, feeling understood without feeling judged.
Where It All Started
I used to work as a caseworker supporting vulnerable people who make changes in their life. During this time, I saw the importance of everyone having someone to talk to, someone who will listen. This inspired me to develop my skills further and train to be a therapist.
Whilst training I have worked in Internal communications. This has allowed me to write about mental health and wellbeing. Last year this work was recognised when I won a national internal communications award.
